Who's Your Mascot?

 

The Official Mascot Contest of the West Michigan Sports Commission

Thank you to all who submitted your artwork!

 

Purpose:  To develop and create a mascot that represents the West Michigan Sports Commission and the community.

 

Why?  As an organization that promotes West Michigan as a sports destination, we feel that the West Michigan Sports Commission can benefit by being represented at these events as well as community events through a mascot representative. A mascot is also a great way to interact with people of all ages.

 

Contest: 

There are 3 contests offered:

1)      Youth (Grades K-8)

2)      College/University (must be enrolled in a college or university when submitting final product)

3)      Open (no age or education limitations)

 

Submitted Item:  All entries in any of the categories will submit a drawing/rendering of their suggested mascot for the West Michigan Sports Commission.

 

Contest Prizes & Judging:  The following prizes will be awarded in each category: the first-place prize is a $100 gift card to MC Sports, and the second-place prize is a $50 gift card to Hobby Lobby.  The judges will consist of a panel from the West Michigan Sports Commission Staff and Board Members.

 

Contest Rules:

  1. Participants may not submit a mascot that is affiliated with any college or university. 
  2. Participants may not submit a mascot that represents any MHSAA High School in the OK Conference.
  3. Participants may not submit a mascot that is trademarked by another sports organization or other existing entities.
  4. Participants may only enter one category AND may only submit one final product.
  5. Final renderings may be in black and white or color.
  6. Final renderings may be submitted as either a hard copy or electronically.
  7. Designer should provide a suggested name for the submitted mascot.
  8. Mascot should reflect the West Michigan area.
  9. Mascot should be appropriate for all ages.
  10. Submitted artwork must include name of artist and category entered.
  11. All artwork submissions become the property of the West Michigan Sports Commission.
