The West Michigan Sports Commission (WMSC) kicked off 2020 with a number of changes signaling the healthy growth of the Grand Rapids-based nonprofit, from hiring a new national sales manager with event management experience at IRONMAN, to moving into a dedicated office space at 300 Ottawa Ave. NW. The new year also brings approval of the slate of board officers and directors.

The USA Masters Games is a major Olympic-style, multi-sport event for athletes ages 21 and over. The 2016 USA Masters Games were held in Greensboro, North Carolina from July 21-31 and featured over 2,500 adult athletes who competed in 24 sports ranging from badminton and baseball to water polo and weightlifting.

A new report shows that older individuals who stay active not only have better health but have a better mental and cognitive state. Unfortunately, the number of adults who actually do get active is low.
