Grand Rapids, Mich., May 9, 2013 – After two weeks of Facebook voting, the results are in for the winner of the Meijer State Games of Michigan national anthem contest. Lauren St. Andre received the majority of the votes and will perform the national anthem at the Opening Ceremonies.

The Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports honored the Meijer State Games of Michigan with its prestigious Extraordinary Event Award at a special ceremony at Ford Field last month.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Mike Guswiler says he’ll take the gloves off Monday when he moderates a session on sports tourism at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism at the Detroit Marriott Hotel.


As executive director of the West Michigan Sports Commission since 2007, Guswiler has competed against other Michigan cities in his effort to attract statewide and national sports events to the Grand Rapids.
