Entering its seventh year, the West Michigan Sports Commission (WMSC) has hired Peggy Keiper as national sports sales manager, a new position for the organization.
According to Mike Guswiler, president, his three-person staff has helped book more than 280 sporting events and tournaments in the region since the organization's inception.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Six years after its founding, the West Michigan Sports Commission (WMSC) is growing again with the addition of a national sports sales manager.
Margaret “Peggy” Keiper is joining the WMSC’s four-person full-time staff to focus on recruiting more national sports events and tournaments to the city.

University of Michigan head coach Brady Hoke will be the featured speaker at the West Michigan Sports Commission Luncheon on May 13, 2013. Hoke, who just wrapped up his second season with the Wolverines, led Michigan to a victory in the Allstate Sugar Bowl in his first year. WMSC President Mike Guswiler feels that Hoke is the “ideal guest speaker” for the luncheon.
Brady Hoke, head football coach for the University of Michigan, will be the featured speaker at the seventh annual West Michigan Sports Commission Luncheon on May 13 in Grand Rapids.
The noon luncheon will be held in the International Ballroom of the JW Marriott Hotel, 235 Louis Campau Promenade NW.

GRAND RAPIDS – The West Michigan Sports Commission is launching the "Who's Your Mascot?" Challenge, as contestants are sought to design the new mascot for public sporting events in West Michigan.
Running now through March 1, winning submittals will be used in the design of an official mascot for the organization that will attend youth and amateur sporting events in the region.
