GRAND RAPIDS — The story of twin sisters with cystic fibrosis who receive life-saving lung transplants is told in an award-winning documentary film that will be presented tonight by the West Michigan Sports Commission.


Marc Smolowitz, the director of “Power of Two,” will discuss the movie after the screening at Celebration Cinema North.


The sports commission is bringing the movie to Grand Rapids in support of the Transplant Games of America, which will be held in West Michigan July 28-31.


GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The Grand River will take center stage Saturding morning, when the prestigious Mid-American Collegiate Rowing Championship returns to Grand Rapids for the first time since 2007.


About 1,500 athletes will be competing, and organizers expect more than 1,000 fans to watch the competition. The West Michigan Sports Commission expects the event to bring in about $350,000 to the community.


GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The Grand Rapids Rowing Association will host the 2012 Mid-American Collegiate Rowing Association (MACRA) Championship Regatta.


The 48th annual race will take place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 28 in Riverside Park in Grand Rapids. It lasts six minutes and ends near the Ann Street Bridge.
