GR to Host 4 Sporting Events, Bring in $3M

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --This month, Grand Rapids will host four national tournaments in the sports of BMX racing, rowing, and softball that collectively will attract thousands of athletes and spectators from across the country and world and generate $3.3 million in estimated economic impact, plus fill 3,817 hotel room nights. And three of the four tournaments are a first for West Michigan.

The national events include:

USA BMX Great Lakes Nationals – 8/ 9-11, Rock City BMX, Plainfield Township
USRowing Masters National Championships – 8/15-18, Riverside Park
USA Softball Men’s Fastpitch Open East National Championship – 8/23-25, Art Van Sports Complex
USA Softball Men’s Slowpitch Class D Northern Championship – 8/30-9/2, Art Van Sports Complex
