IBC Youth 2022 Junior Gold Championships Honored as a 2022 Champion of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism in Sports Destination Management

(Grand Rapids, MI) - Sports Destination Management, the leading publication with the largest circulation of sports event planners and tournament directors in the sports tourism market, has announced the 2022 Champions of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism. This year’s winners are responsible for contributing a more-than-welcome boost of over $2.42 billion to the national economy over the past year.

The 13-day event brought 3,277 athletes and 9,000 spectators to eight bowling across three Michigan cities (Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and Lansing). The athletes, from 50 states, two U.S. territories, and Costa Rica, booked 10,000 hotel room nights at more than 30 hotel properties, with the event having a total economic impact of $7 million.
