Main Weekend for Meijer State Games Begins on Thursday

Opening ceremony takes place on Friday at Fifth Third Ballpark

 

Grand Rapids, Mich., June 24, 2015 – The opening weekend of the 2015 Meijer State Games of Michigan concluded last weekend with the cycling, girl’s lacrosse, and synchronized swimming events. This weekend will be the main weekend of the Meijer State Games, where 38 sports will be in action. The opening ceremony for the 2015 Summer Games will take place on Friday at Fifth Third Ballpark and will be broadcast live on GRTV and streamed live on http://stategamesofmichigan.com/OpeningCeremonies starting at 7:30 p.m.

 

Prior to the beginning of the opening ceremony program, athlete check-in presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield will start at 2 p.m. at the Pepsi Stadium Club. The athlete village presented by Funny Business Agency, will have multiple vendors, inflatables and activities for the participants to go visit. NBA All-Star Chris Kaman will be present at the Neurocore booth for fans to meet him and win some signed memorabilia, along with getting their brain profile.

The main weekend for the 2015 Meijer State Games – Summer Games, will take place this weekend. There are 38 events that will take stage this week as the events get started on Thursday with the 5k, baseball, bocce ball, hockey, mountain biking, and girl’s fastpitch softball.

Three of the four new sports will be making their Meijer State Games of Michigan debut this weekend with baseball, tennis and the ultrafit challenge.
